Review: The Concrete Blonde by Michael Connelly

Image
The Concrete Blonde by Michael Connelly Detective Harry Bosch was sure he'd shot the serial killer responsible for a string of murders in LA . . . but now, a new crime makes him question his convictions. The Dollmaker was the name of the serial killer who had stalked Los Angeles ruthlessly, leaving grisly calling cards on the faces of his female victims. Now with a single faultless shot, Detective Harry Bosch thinks he has ended the city's nightmare. But the dead man's widow is suing Harry and the LAPD for killing the wrong man-- an accusation that rings terrifyingly true when a new victim is discovered with the Dollmaker's macabre signature. So for the second time, Harry must hunt down a death-dealer who is very much alive, before he strikes again. It's a blood-tracked quest that will take Harry from the hard edges of the L.A. night to the last place he ever wanted to go-- the darkness of his own heart. With The Concrete Blonde, Edgar Award-winning...

Review: The Black Ice by Michael Connelly

Image
The Black Ice by Michael Connelly When an LAPD narcotics officer is found with a fatal bullet wound and a suicide note, Detective Harry Bosch follows a bloody trail of drug murders across the Mexico border. Working the case, LAPD detective Harry Bosch is reminded of the primal police rule he learned long ago: Don't look for the facts, but the glue that holds them together. Soon Harry's making some very dangerous connections, starting with a dead cop and leading to a bloody string of murders that wind from Hollywood Boulevard to the back alleys south of the border. Now this battle-scarred veteran will find himself in the center of a complex and deadly game—one in which he may be the next and likeliest victim. My Review: My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book is very good. I can't wait to continue the series. And see what happens next with these characters

Review: Darkness of Mine by Alexis Grace

Image
Darkness of Mine by Alexis Grace *Spoilers for books 1 and 2 ahead - I highly recommend you go back and read Killer of Mine and Secrets of Mine before reading any further.* She used to work for the FBI… Now she’s the one hiding from them… Freya should finally be free. Safe. But her life is rarely that simple and the Cross-Cut Killer case is far more complicated than anyone realized. Now, it’s more personal than ever and the killer is determined to make Freya's existence a living hell. She did what he wanted, she ran from the men she loved and now it's slowly killing her. Hiding out with her pseudo-sister Carmen may be a temporary solution but it won't heal the trauma she's been through and River, Jude, Eli and Oz aren't about to let her suffer on her own. They're coming for her, whether she wants them to or not, and Freya is left with no choice. She can't avoid the guys forever, not if she wants to catch the killer, because it turns out he'...

Review: The Black Echo by Michael Connelly

Image
The Black Echo by Michael Connelly For maverick LAPD homicide detective Harry Bosch, the body in the drainpipe at Mulholland Dam is more than another anonymous statistic. This one is personal...because the murdered man was a fellow Vietnam "tunnel rat" who had fought side by side with him in a hellish underground war. Now Bosch is about to relive the horror of Nam. From a dangerous maze of blind alleys to a daring criminal heist beneath the city, his survival instincts will once again be tested to their limit. Pitted against enemies inside his own department and forced to make the agonizing choice between justice and vengeance, Bosch goes on the hunt for a killer whose true face will shock him. My Review: My rating: 5 of 5 stars I really enjoyed this book I originally started reading the Lincoln Lawyer series when the main character in this series popped up as related to the main character in that series I immediately wanted to go back and get more bac...

Review: The Law of Innocence by Michael Connelly

Image
The Law of Innocence by Michael Connelly Defense attorney Mickey Haller is pulled over by police, who find the body of a client in the trunk of his Lincoln. Haller is charged with murder and can't make the exorbitant $5 million bail slapped on him by a vindictive judge. Mickey elects to defend himself and must strategize and build his defense from his jail cell in the Twin Towers Correctional Center in downtown Los Angeles, all the while looking over his shoulder--as an officer of the court he is an instant target. Mickey knows he's been framed. Now, with the help of his trusted team, he has to figure out who has plotted to destroy his life and why. Then he has to go before a judge and jury and prove his innocence. My review: My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book is really good if I really enjoyed it, it is very intense, but I can't wait to continue with this series and I like how this book continued the storyline right from where we left off in the last book
